Adia Rogers Named SAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

OKLAHOMA CITY – In guiding the Lady Lions to a 78-67 road win at Southwestern Assemblies of God to wrap up the regular season, Adia Rogers from Langston was tabbed as the Sooner Athletic Conference player of the week for Feb. 15-21.

A six-foot sophomore forward from Milwaukee, Wis., Rogers put together a career-best performance against SAGU on Feb. 20, scoring 25 points on 11-of-13 (84.6 percent) shooting and went 3-for-4 (75 percent) from the foul line while notching her second double-double of the season with a career-high 10 rebounds to go along with a pair of steals and an assist.

Rogers was particularly sharp in the first half, scoring 15 of her 25 points and tallying six of her 10 boards in the opening half in guiding LU to a commanding 46-23 lead at the halftime break.

During the regular season, Rogers averaged 7.2 ppg for the Lady Lions on a 42.9 percent shooting clip while averaging 5.9 rebounds per game.

Since Langston joined the conference prior to the start of the 2018-19 season, Rogers is the first Lady Lions player to ever take home the SAC weekly honor.

Other nominees: Tateum Jones, Panhandle State; Abby Selzer, Oklahoma City
