BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Three West Virginia State University men’s basketball players were named in the annual All-MEC awards list when it was released by the Mountain East Conference league offices on Wednesday afternoon. Senior guard Glen Abram and sophomore forward Anthony Pittman were both selected on the All-MEC First Team. Meanwhile, senior forward Jeremiah Moore was placed on the All-MEC Honorable Mention shortlist.

Abram earned All-MEC First Team honors for the second consecutive year. He posted the second-highest scoring average in the league this season with 23.5 points per game. He scored the most points overall with 353 and knocked down more three-point field goals (53) than any other player in the conference. Abram also etched his name into the record books at West Virginia State in a 104-92 win over West Virginia Wesleyan late in the regular season. He set modern-era school records for points scored (47), field goals made (14), and three-point field goals made (12) in a single game.

Pittman made the jump from the All-MEC Second Team last season to the All-MEC First Team this season. He averaged a double-double in 2021 with 17.5 points per game and a league-leading 12.3 rebounds per game. His 1.73 blocks per game was also the best average in the conference.

Pittman ranked second in all of NCAA Division II in defensive rebounds per game (9.0) and double-doubles (11). He also ranked fourth in rebounds per game and seventh in total rebounds (184).

He nearly averaged a double-double this season with 17.0 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game, which was tied for fifth-best in the MEC. His .627 field goal percentage was the third-highest conversion rate in the league.
