MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The championship game of the 2022 SSAC Men’s Basketball Championship, presented by Newk’s Eatery, will feature No. 1 Loyola and No. 2 Talladega after both teams survived Friday’s semifinal contests.
The teams will battle for the tournament trophy Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CST at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Ala. Loyola already received an automatic bid to the NAIA Men’s Basketball National Championship Opening Round after winning the regular season title, so Talladega receives the league’s second automatic bid.
This will the third match up between the two teams as top seed Loyola defeated second seed Talladega both times during the regular season.

- Talladega got 21 points, six rebounds and four steals from Jervay Green and 16 points from Darryl Baker
- Faulkner got a game-high 32 points from Jalon Perry and 19 points from Daniel Garmendia
- Talladega shot 54% from the field and knocked down 9-of-24 triples
No. 1 Loyola def. No. 4 Stillman 82-69
- Loyola got 18 points and 10 boards from Zach Wrightsil and nine points, 10 rebounds and eight assists from Myles Burns
- Stillman got 18 points and six rebounds from Londell King and 17 points and 11 boards from Virgil Fields
- Loyola shot 54% from the field and 50% from 3-point range, while holding a 42-32 edge on the glass
