The recently name Ohio Valley Conference player of the week averaged last week averaging 25.5 ppg, 12 apg, 5.5 rpg, and 3 spg while leading the Tigers to a 1-1 record. He currently leads the Tigers in scoring with a 16.2 per game average.
Division 1 Women’s National Player of the Week: Chanin Scott 6-0 Gr G North Carolina A&T
Averaged 17.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game this past weekend as the Southern Division first-place Aggies split a twinbill with Norfolk State. She was a combined 14-for-27 from the floor, and in Saturday’s comeback win, she had 19 points, five boards, three assists and a steal. On Sunday, she added 15 points, five rebounds and two assists.
Small School Men’s National Player of the Week Division2/NAIA: Glen Abram 6-2 G West Virginia State
Averaged 35.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and shot 50 percent from the field and from three-point range in two games last week for the Yellow Jackets. In the Yellow Jackets’ victory over West Virginia Wesleyan, he scored 47 points on 14-of-23 shooting and a school record 12 made three-pointers in 16 attempts, handed out four assists, and made three steals.
Small School Women’s National Player of the Week Division2/NAIA: Ashiala Jackson, F Tuskegee
Jackson, a redshirt-junior from Merrillville, Ind., averaged 19.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.3 steals and shot 58 percent from the field in helping lead the Golden Tigers to three victories last week. She recorded two double doubles and in the 86-78 overtime victory over Benedict (2/18), she scored 36 points on 15-of-19 shooting, grabbed 14 rebounds, made three steals, and scored six of her team’s 14 points in the overtime period including the first five points.
