INDIANAPOLIS — The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II Softball Committee announced the 64 teams that will participate in the 2022 NCAA Division II Softball Championship with Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) champion, Claflin University, among the field.
The Panthers, who earned the conference’s automatic bid after winning their first CIAA title over the weekend, will be the no. 7 seed in the Atlantic Region and will face no. 2 Seton Hill. They will play in Atlantic Regional #2 alongside no. 3 seed Bloomsburg and no. 6 seed Shippensburg, who will serve as the host site. Game times have yet to be determined.
Regionals willl feature a double-elimination format with game being held May 12-14. The winner will advance to the super regionals, slated for May 19-20. The finals will be held May 26-31 at the Assembly Athletic Complex in Denver and will be hosted by Metropolitan State University of Denver.
