BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (September 18, 2023) – The Northeast Conference (NEC) uncovered its women’s soccer weekly awards where Howard University freshman goalie Trinity Knox (Atlanta) claimed the league’s Defensive Player of the Week. The announcement came Monday afternoon.

Last week, Knox was part of two shutout victories for the Bison. Thursday (Sept. 14), she logged 47:15 minutes and did not concede a goal in the Bison’s 2-0 win over Delaware State to kickoff league play. Three days later (Sept. 17), the Atlanta native registered a full 90 minutes between the pipes while defeating Le Moyne, 1-0, in Syracuse, N.Y.

Knox currently leads the league in goals against average (0.85) and save percentage (.857).

Knox, along with third-year Bison Melea Earley (La Mirada, Calif.), made this week’s NEC Prime Performers list.

Sacred Heart’s Grace O’Hara claimed NEC Player of the Week while Wagner’s Jess Maraia took home Rookie of the Week.

On Sept. 21, HU closes out its nonconference slate against old-rival Alabama A&M. Thursday’s match is Youth Day, scheduled for noon at Greene Stadium.
