Jarvis Takes Series From TAMUSA

The Lady Bulldogs Softball Program completed back to back wins against Texas A&M San Antonio to earn the conference series over the weekend.  The win brings Jarvis Christian College to 10-9 on the season and (6-5) in Red River Conference play.  The Lady Bulldogs will play host to University of Southwest for a 3 game Red River Conference series next weekend.

Game 1 – Allie Gonzales would get the start and the loss in a 7 inning pitching duel with a score of 0 -1.  Graciella Becerra went 2 for 3 with 2 hits, while Tabitha Fernandez notched the only other hit for the Lady Bulldogs.

Game 2 – Alexandra Montalbo would earn the late win in a close game of 4 – 3.  The Lady Bulldogs tacked on an impressive 8 hits in 26 at bats and 4 runs batted in.  Yvonne Hernandez led all bulldogs on the day going 3 for 4, with 3 hits, and a game winning shot to the right field fence that drove in 2 rbi’s.

Game 3 – Allie Gonzales would get the start and the win in a close 2 – 1 ballgame, while Alexandra Montalbo earned the game winning save.  Pua Johnson led the lady bulldogs at the plate by going 2 for 3, with 2 hits and 2 runs batted in.
