FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky State Men’s Golf team concluded their first tournament of the 2021 fall season on Tuesday, placing third at the Alice Lloyd Invitational. The Thorobreds shot 600 as a team and were led by Micah Stangebye, who won the tournament outright.
Stangebye entered the 2021 campaign with a victory after 5-under 139 to finish a two-stroke lead over Alice Lloyd’s Mason Compton, who finished second.
Behind him, transfer Cade Kilkenny finished well with a 9-over 153, his teammate Jared Southerland finished with 10-over 154.
Ryan Morgan rounded out the team portion of the event with a two-round total of 162.
Both Austin Fitzgerald and Ignacy Smoniewski closed out the Alice Lloyd Invitational with a 167.

The Thorobreds will head to Newman, Georgia for the HBCU Hall of Fame Championship on Sept. 24 – 26 at the Summer Grove Golf Course.
