SIAC Week 6: Volleyball Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (October 12, 2021) – Hailey White (Central State) was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, while Stasha Adams (Kentucky State) earned Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.

Jessica Fairly (Spring Hill) was also tabbed Setter of the Week alongside Abrielle Jordan (Kentucky State) who earned Newcomer of the Week.

OFFENSIVE – Hailey White, Freshman, Middle Hitter, Central State

?Central State freshman Hailey White led CSU to a 3-1 record over this past week’s matches. In Tuesday’s non-conference victory over Ashland, White helped CSU end a 7-match winning streak for the Eagles with 15 kills and a .625 hitting percentage. On Friday, White become the first CSU player to go back-to-back matches of .600 or better hitting percentages when she recorded 13 kills and a .667% in a 3-0 win over Miles. She also added two service aces

White finished with 8 kills and two service aces in a 3-0 win over Tuskegee. In a four-set loss to Spring Hill, White had 8 kills and two blocks. White totaled 44 kills for the week with just four attacking errors. She has helped CSU to a 14-6 overall record with a 10-2 ledger in SIAC play.

DEFENSIVE – Stasha Adams, Sophomore, Libero, Kentucky State

Adams had a phenomenal weekend defensively leading the team in digs and serve receive during the SIAC Cluster #2. She averaged 13 digs per match and three aces per match respectively.

SETTER – Jessica Fairly, Freshman, Setter, Spring Hill

Fairly led the Badgers to a 5-0 record at the West Cluster this week with 99 assists (6.60 aps). She added 21 digs and three aces on the weekend.

NEWCOMER – Abrielle Jordan, Freshman, Middle Hitter, Kentucky State

Jordan had a stellar weekend offensively and defensively leading the team in kills and blocks during the SIAC Cluster #2. She averaged 11 kills per match and six blocks per match respectively.
