SWAC Volleyball Weekly Honors: Sept. 22

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Florida A&M’s Dominique Washington, Jessa Long and Irem Ucar for SWAC Volleyball Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of regular season play.

Offensive/Newcomer of the Week
Washington had another dominant weekend, posting impressive numbers with 28 kills and 17 digs during Florida A&M’s win versus Auburn. She added 15 kills and 18 digs versus Belmont and 19 kills and 14 digs versus Nicholls State. Washington would subsequently be named to her fourth straight All-Tournament Team.

Defensive Player of the Week
Long made another All-Tournament team as she set a new season-high with 32 digs during Florida A&M’s win versus Auburn. She would later add 22 digs versus Belmont and 20 digs versus Nicholls State.

Setter of the Week
Ucar made her fourth All-Tournament team as she set a new season-high with 57 assists during Florida A&M’s win versus Auburn. She added 70 more assists between FAMU’s two matches versus Belmont and Nicholls State. Ucar also set a new season-high with 16 digs during Florida A&M’s win versus Belmont.
