West Virginia State’s Joel Felder named MEC Offensive Player of the Week for second time in three weeks

 

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – West Virginia State football’s Joel Felder (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./Stranahan) was named the Mountain East Conference (MEC) Offensive Player of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, for the second time this season as a result of his outstanding performance at Concord on Saturday.

Felder rushed 29 times for 159 yards, averaging 5.5 yards per carry, and two touchdowns to help the Yellow Jackets to a 47-27 victory over the Mountain Lions. His touchdowns came on six- and 18-yard runs in the second and fourth quarters respectively. He has rushed for over 100 yards in six straight games now and over 150 yards in his last two games.

Felder is currently ranked in the top 10 in NCAA Division II in multiple statistical categories. He’s ranked seventh in all purpose yards (167.7 per game), 10th in rush yards per carry (7.1), fourth in rushing yards (428) and fifth in rushing yards per game (142.7).
