Xavier (LA) Women Basketball Get’s RRAC Victory Over Louisiana Christian

Xavier University of Louisiana extended its women’s basketball winning streak to a season-best eight games with a 66-52 Red River Athletic Conference decision Saturday against Louisiana Christian at Pineville, La. Taylor Dewitt scored 14 points, Tatjana Tatar a season-high 13, Jaleah LaFargue 11 and Zaria Harleaux 10 for the Gold Nuggets (19-4 overall, 16-2 RRAC). Tatar made 3-of-4 3-pointers, Harleaux grabbed eight rebounds, and Lafargue had five steals. Princis Goff, with 11 points, was the lone double-figure scorer for the Wildcats. Goff entered as the RRAC’s leading scorer with 19 points per game. LCU was 0-of-9 on 3-pointers. XULA led 34-24 at halftime, 53-38 through three quarters and 60-39 after Tatar’s 3-pointer with 7:08 remaining. Next for the Gold Nuggets will be a 5:30 p.m. Thursday home game against RRAC leader LSU-Shreveport at XULA’s Convocation Center.
